Scottsdale- Desert Mountain Travel Diary
Scottsdale, Arizona holds a special place in my heart as it was the place where B and I tied the knot two and a half years ago. Every since the first time I visited this area up in the mountains, I have been in love with the big saguaro cacti that cover the land like trees, the dry heat, sunny skies and expansive sunsets. I think the moment we got engaged we both had it in our mind that we wanted to have all our loved ones out to this special place to celebrate our new life together as husband and wife. And now, every time we visit, I not only have nostalgia from our wedding, but I truly feel like this is my spot. The place where I feel relaxed and rejuvenated and just happy - its as simple as that.
This time was the first time I have visited in April and I was amazed at how colorful everything was. I always expect to see the brightly colored hues in the sunsets, but never had I seen the mountainside covered in electric yellow flowers, giving the landscape a bright and cheery appearance. The desert isn't always as dead and dry as you might think!
Our next trip out to Scottsdale will be Thanksgiving and it's crazy to think we will have a 4 month old baby boy in tow this time!! I hope he grows up loving it as much as his parents!
