Weekend in Hermann
Today I thought I would share a few photos from a recent bachelorette trip to Hermann, Missouri. Now, unless you live in Kansas City, or Missouri, you probably have never heard of Hermann, a very small town known for their wine trail and several wineries that are easily accessible via trolly - (and even I had never heard of it before this trip) but I was very pleasantly surprised with our whole stay from beginning to end, and thats coming from a pregnant lady who couldn't even participate in all the wine tastings!
The theme for the day was Kentucky Derby, which I was all about, since I had never been to a Derby Party or had an excuse to wear a big obnoxiously decorated floppy hat! The girls went all out with their hats and it made the group easier to spot amongst all the other people, plus it just got us a lot of pointing, staring, and complements. We boarded the wine trolley in the morning, which for 20$ a person would pick you up and drop you off at any of the wineries you wanted all day long. We couldn't have asked for a better day as it was about 75 and sunny and we (they) enjoyed wine and snacks outside on patios all day long- heaven!
Last year we went to Napa (see post here!) and of course Napa is creme de la creme of wine destinations, at least in the US- but I have to admit, little Hermann Missouri offered a great wine trail totally worth experiencing if you live in the midwest. (But hey... I might have to reevaluate when I can actually taste all the wines!) If you live in Kansas or Missouri, you should check it out! Take a weekend with friends, book a bed and breakfast, and let the wine tastings begin! Bring your floppy hats and cheese and crackers!
