Summer Staples
I have so many summer staples in my closet that I wear time and time again, so I had to do a round-up of my favorites! These are my tried and true pieces that I keep coming back to. If you’re looking for summer dresses, basic tees, athleisure, accessories and more, I’ve got you covered!
Jean Shorts & Summer Dresses
I have tried so many pairs of jean shorts but I always come back to the same few pairs. For your summer staples, I’d suggest a blue jean and a white pair that you love the fit on, I also love a good denim skort! For my summer dresses, I love a cute tennis dress or a lightweight maxi dress. Both are perfect for everyday wear, and so comfy!
Matching Sets & Rompers
I love a matching set! And while I love to wear the pieces together, it’s also super nice that the pieces can be used separately to make lots of other cute outfits. I’ve found lots of sets from Target and Amazon that are definitely must-haves! If you’ve been here for awhile, you know my love for rompers and jumpsuits, especially bump-friendly ones. The oversized fit of the Free People Hot Shot onesie is AMAZING and Amazon also has a great look-a-like. It’s a summer staple that I can’t get enough of!
Tanks & Tees
Good tees and tanks are so understated but so important! A whole outfit can be created around a basic t-shirt or tank top. I love an oversized graphic tee to pair with biker shorts for summer, but solid tees and tanks are also summer staples! A solid white tee can be worn over and over, and it’s always nice to have a solid tee to pair with patterned shorts or skirts. Some of my favorite places to get basic tees and tanks are Target, Old Navy and Walmart; they have lots of options that are super affordable!
Athleisure
As a mom of four, I spend a lot of time in athleisure outfits and have found several pieces that have become summer staples. I want my athleisure to be cute, yet comfortable, and I want to get lots of wear out of it! I love a good tennis dress, pair it with sneakers and a belt bag, and you’ve got yourself a cute, active outfit. I also love biker shorts, tennis skirts, and running shorts. They all look so cute worn with a basic tee or tank!
Accessories
When it comes to summer staple accessories, I love neutral pieces that can be worn with tons of outfits! For instance, I have a gold necklace that can be worn with anything, and I have some nude slides that are cute, sensible, and they match every outfit. As a big fan of belt bags, a neutral one that can be paired with all of my activewear is a must! When searching for a staple item, I recommend keeping it neutral so you’ll be able to pair it with anything!
